Instrument Rating

The instrument rating is an advanced certification for pilots, enabling them to fly in lower visibility and otherwise adverse weather conditions solely by reference to instruments, enhancing safety and navigational skills. Students will undergo rigorous training in simulated IFR, mastering precision flying techniques and honing their ability to navigate and communicate effectively in challenging environments.

Basic Requirements:

Hold a Private Pilot Certificate

50 Hours of Cross Country Pilot in Command time

40 Hours of Instrument Time (Simulated/Actual)

Including:

15 hours logged with Authorized Instructor

What will it cost:

This rating can be achieved anywhere from 9,000-12,000 depending on the frequency of the training

Assuming hourly of $150 for the aircraft and $85 for instruction

It is expected to take 3-4 months
